2013 — Where it all began
Our journey began in 2013 with Want A Sparky, originally established as an electrical contracting business in Victoria.
2016 — Want A Sparky Pty Ltd
As the business grew, so did our structure. In 2016, Want A Sparky transitioned from its original sole-trader structure into a company.

That company commenced trading on 1 July 2016 and has remained continuously active ever since. In June 2026, the same company was renamed Want A Group VIC Pty Ltd as part of the consolidation of our trade businesses.
This isn’t a new company—it’s the same ABN and continuous corporate entity that operated as Want A Sparky Pty Ltd from 2016. ABN Lookup
2020 — When we shifted into our first commercial factory.
2022 — Want A Heat Pump
As electrification gathered momentum, our business expanded well beyond traditional electrical contracting.
We developed dedicated plumbing, hot-water, heating, cooling and refrigeration capabilities and established:

Want A Heat Pump commenced on 14 February 2022 as its own company and became the specialist plumbing and HVAC side of our growing electrification business. ABN Lookup
By this stage, what had started as Want A Sparky was becoming a genuinely multidisciplinary trade business capable of delivering electrical, solar, battery, hot-water, heating, cooling and other electrification technologies.
2023 — All Electric Homes
The next evolution was recognising that electrification was about much more than individual products or individual trades.
In 2023 we established:

The company became All Electric Homes Pty Ltd in April 2023, with the All Electric Homes business name registered in March 2023. ABN Lookup
All Electric Homes was created to become the customer-facing education, sales and project-development arm of the group—helping households, businesses, apartment buildings, councils and other organisations understand, plan and implement their transition to efficient all-electric energy.
Rather than asking customers to coordinate electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, solar companies and multiple suppliers themselves, our aim was to bring the entire electrification journey together.
2026 — Bringing our trades together as Want A Group VIC
By 2026, operating separate trade businesses no longer made sense.
For operational efficiency, scalability and a simpler customer experience, our electrical, plumbing, HVAC and renewable-energy delivery operations were consolidated under the Want A Group structure.

Importantly, the ABN did not change. The public ABR history shows Want A Sparky Pty Ltd from 1 July 2016 until 19 June 2026, followed by Want A Group VIC Pty Ltd from 19 June 2026 onward under the same ABN. ABN Lookup
Want A Heat Pump’s operations were likewise brought into the broader Want A Group delivery model, allowing our trades to operate as one
integrated team rather than separate businesses.

We understand why someone looking only at the establishment date of All Electric Homes or the newer Want A Group VIC name might assume we’re a relatively new business. We’re not.
The business began with Want A Sparky in 2013, transitioned into its company structure in 2016, expanded into plumbing and HVAC through Want A Heat Pump in 2022, established All Electric Homes in 2023, and consolidated its trade operations under Want A Group in 2026.
The names and corporate structure have evolved as we’ve grown. The people, experience and purpose behind them have been developing for more than a decade.
